Company History
The company was set up in 1983 by our founder Mr.Dhyan Mohinta. Initially starting with manufacture and supply of extreme temperature garment and coat combat to the Indian army, the company moved towards manufacture of supply of various other defence items in the expanding defence industry in India. The company prides on its use of indigenous raw-materials and and a workforce of 30 workers. After the introduction of a centralized system of tender, we started with our flagship product Combat helmets and moved to other types of helmets.
The company is a well equipped with an office in south Kolkata and a factory/manufacturing unit in Maheshtala (24 Parganas South). It covers an area of total of 25000 sq.ft out which 10000 sq.ft is covered.
For our helmet manufacturing we have 3 compressed hydraulic machines weighing 100 tonnes, 150 tonnes and 250 tonnes and the rest of machines such as grill machine, heat chamber and other equipment. We encourage locally made indigenous raw materials. We also have our in-house testing equipment for tests such as penetration, rigidity and drop test. However for our BP Helmet (ACH design) we are using imported Aramid fabrics and foreign technology to increase strength and reliability.
We recently had the privilege to have a one on one meeting with our honourable Defence Minister Mr.Manohar Parrikar in Delhi, who encouraged us and urged us to continue with our work. He stressed on the importance of SME”s and MSME’s and push for the importance of indegenisation and “Make in India”.

The company has a sister concern Mohinta Techno Pvt Ltd affiliated with defence manufacturing.
Clients
The government of India is our biggest client as we are one of the few companies holding rate contract for Combat helmet. We supply to various state police departments, Indian Naval forces, Para-military forces and recently to railway departments.
We have been trying to expand and supply to private organisations in need of safety defence equipment. Some of our private clients in recent years is Bokaro Steel Plant, Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Garden Reach Ship Builder.

With a background in Commerce (B.Com honors) degree from St.Xaviers and a Master’s degree from Leeds Business School in Marketing Management, she’s the head of marketing of Calcutta fabricators.
