India has the the second largest standing Army in the world. There is a huge demand for defence equipment with 6 Operational commands and 14 Corps. A lot of hue and cry has been made about the state of the Indian defence ministry in recent years. A recent article published in a leading newspaper has brought to light the extensive cause of delay in the purchasing of bullet resistant helmets and bullet proof jackets.

India has a high demand, due to its large contingent and also a massive budget of Rs 2,46,727 crore ($40 billion). However, due to the long process of approving tenders and procurement, things slowed down a bit. Things seem to be looking up as the ministry is gearing up to purchase and fulfil the demand gap in the next few years.

Our firm is registered with the DGS&D for over 10 years, and SQAE for over 30 years and we at Calcutta Fabricators are constantly working towards developing and improving our products. With the new government speeding up the process of the specifications which comply with the high International technical standards, we are enthusiastic of the future and coming year 2016.

In these perilous times when threat looms large, we as a nation with the second largest population on earth needs to buckle up and protect our soldiers who sacrifice their lives to keep us safe.
